Das Allen & Heath ZED‑10FX ist bekannt für sein robustes, langlebiges Gehäuse und zuverlässige Komponenten, weshalb es bei Musikern auf Tour sehr beliebt ist. Die Preamps und der 3‑Band‑EQ klingen klar und musikalisch, sodass Gesang und Instrumente schnell gut im Mix sitzen. Die eingebauten Effekte wie Reverbs und Delays sind praktisch für Live‑Auftritte und kleine Produktionen, sodass kein zusätzliches Effekt‑Rack nötig ist. Außerdem bietet das Pult viele Anschlüsse und flexible Routing‑Möglichkeiten in einem relativ kompakten Format, was für kleine Bands, Solo‑Künstler und Proberäume ideal ist. Ein häufig genannter Nachteil ist, dass das USB‑Interface nur ein Stereosignal an den Computer sendet und keine einzelnen Kanäle, wodurch man in der DAW weniger Freiheiten bei der Nachbearbeitung hat. Auch die Effektsektion ist funktional, aber nicht extrem tief einstellbar. Für Anwender, die vor allem ein solides, tragbares Analogmischpult mit einfacher USB‑Aufnahme suchen, bleibt es dennoch eine sehr attraktive Option.

I needed an FX unit. Our old outboards were failing. Economically, ergonomically and pragmatically simpler to purchase the wee A&H with the onboard FX. Subjectively the mixer has a warm, clean sound. The onboard effects are more than adequate; surprisingly versatile. I've been using ZED10FX for a month now, engineering small gigs, open mics, disco, karaoke, conferences and have not experienced any shortcomngs in the unit. I haven't needed the USB out record facility on this yet. The record out on the big A&H was superb. I have no doubt the ZED10FX will perform just as well as its big brother, should the talent want a trophy of their work

For $500, this is hands down the best mixer you can buy. The pre amps and general sound you can get out of this unit are amazing. And the FX are great, more than usable in a live or studio context. I was a little concerned about the line inputs imparting colour to the signal, as I needed to run an external pre amp into one of the line inputs for EQ and FX - but there is no colouration whatsoever! The signal from my ISA One sounds exactly the same whether I use the headphone out on the ISA, or if I run it as a line input to the Zed and use the Zed headphone amp. It sounds exactly the same - mission accomplished! But the 4 mic pres in the Zed sound fantastic on their own, and the DI inputs also sound great. The service from Sounds Easy was top notch, as it always is. Not only did they price match for me, but also included free shipping. One happy customer all round, thank you Allen and Heath and Sounds Easy :-)

This looks like exactly the same features and specs on the zed 10fx I've been using for five or six years now. I play a lot of gigs, both as a solo performer and with a band. I run it into two mackie thumps (just one for small venues) and the sound is outstanding. No di is needed for my acoustic/electric guitars. The mic preamps are clean. I've dropped it a couple times and it still works fine. I can run prerecorded music when needed and it all sounds great. On rare occasions I might wish I had a couple more inputs, but it really suits my purposes fine. I just use a little reverb on vocals so I can't judge the effects beyond that.If you need a good sounding, reliable mixer this is an excellent choice! I've had soundcrafts, mackies and even rane mixers and this by far in my opinion has the cleanest sounding preamps.
