OM SYSTEM OM-5 II Schwarz + 14-150 mm F/4,0-5,6 ED II

Still familiarising myself with the camera but my initial feelings are that it is a high quality piece of kit. Having owned the Olympus OM-D-E mark iii being able to easily find options and settings with the new menus is wonderful and doubtless, as I have already done, I will find options that I didn't know existed on the earlier camera. Glad that I made the trade in!!

Very compact and lightweight. (People with big hands may struggle.) Gives excellent results and is easy to use once you have navigated the many menus. Gives excellent results and is easy to use once you have navigated the many menus. Two minor downsides it’s very easy to catch the arrow pad whilst using the camera and the cover for the USB socket is quite flimsy.

Having had micro 4/3s cameras for a few years I decided to upgrade my Olympus EM5 MKll to the OM Systems OM5 MKll in early January 2026. Im delighted to say the upgrade was a great move and the features offered in the new camera were a welcome addition. The computational features add some really useful options not least the Live ND filters to allow longer exposures than would normally be available without adding glass filters to the lens. Not having to carry filters is a great benefit. The 20mp sensor is great for prints up to A3+ so no worries there and the new menus are much easier to navigate. The size, weight and build on this little camera could make you think the camera is small in features but don't be fooled. This little camera packs a real punch and provides excellent image quality. Not forgetting the absolutely top notch weather sealing and in body stabilization to rival most far more expensive options, this is truly a camera to consider. Would i buy it again, absolutely yes.

The OM-5 Mark II is one of the most affordable mirrorless cameras you can get with full IP53 weather protection, but lags behind entry-level alternatives when it comes to imaging prowess.
