This is a good product, but I found out that it is not a standalone device as the previous reviewer mentioned and does require a separate controller. I am told the standalone (autonomous) version has SAP in the model number instead of CAP (which requires a separate controller). That said, I was also informed that through an involved process (not for novices), the CAP model can be converted to an Autonomous model via firmware retrograde via TFTP. Getting the proper firmware, however, is not as straightforward as downloading from a support site. You have to have a support contract with Cisco, or know somebody who does.
