Fellowes Automax 350c Schredder

So far so good, had another one before that broke down.

We have only just recently purchased this shredder, which is why we have only given 3 stars on some of the ratings. However, we are very pleased with the purchase, the service and the machine is working really well. We have not had any jams.

The paper you load must be letter size and stacked neatly. I threw in envelopes with letter size papers, and that did not work. Magazines will also not work. They will have to be handfed from above. If you try to handfeed too fast, the papers or envelopes can get into the space under the lid. See the photo. This is because the blades are about 5 inches below the opening where you handfeed from above. But the paper guide is not long enough to guide all the paper straight down. Maybe in the future, they can come up with a design that has a roller which directs all papers and envelopes of any size, towards the blades when stacking them inside. Otherwise, it is a sturdy machine and it will definitely last longer than those smaller paper shredders.

The Automax works as it should most times, however if it is loaded with too much paper it will not shred efficiently. Overall as expected.

I researched several shredders that would do the job for our small office and am very glad I decided on this one. It works quite well, just like it said it would, and I love the feature where I can put some docs in it and walk away. You do have to make sure the shredding is pushed down from time to time, but that will happen with any shredder. I am also using regular clear trash bags from Sam's and they work just fine.
