Das Cherry G80-1800 ist eine kompakte mechanische Tastatur mit vollständigem Nummernblock, ideal für Nutzer mit wenig Platz, die dennoch nicht auf Funktionalität verzichten möchten. Die MX-Schalter sind für ihre Langlebigkeit und das angenehme Tippgefühl bekannt, was die Tastatur für den professionellen Dauereinsatz prädestiniert. Dank USB- und PS/2-Anschluss ist sie vielseitig einsetzbar. Nachteile sind das spezielle Layout, das die Auswahl an Ersatz-Keycaps einschränkt, sowie das Fehlen von Anti-Ghosting, was sie für anspruchsvolle Gamer weniger geeignet macht. Die Standard-Keycaps sind glatt und es gibt keine Beleuchtung, was für manche Nutzer ein Nachteil sein kann.

I ordered this on Friday and I got on Tuesday (Republic of Korea) Delivery was so so fast and good. Also this keyboard's visual is crazy!!! Typing was so soft and smooth and spring sound was very small. I'm so satisfying to get this. But at upside of keycaps there was plastic remaining Just one more thing that I disappointed was packaging box design was not Cherry keyboard's design maybe this is bulk pakage One more thing I added. I just compared with Leopold 980c (topre switch) for the size.

this keyboard has an ANSI-1800 style layout. [NON-ISO] comes with stiff 60gram actuation Cherry MX black switches [not lubed] and you will notice that they are not lubed if you lube switches. The stabilizers were cherry I believe but cannot 100% confirm. I lubed the stabilizers with 205 grade0 and the stabilizers feel a lot smoother & do not have as much ping. I also put just a little bit of foam from KBDfans under the PCB inside the case to dampen the ping when typing. Lastly, if you buy one hold on to it as long as possible as you can sell it in 5-15 years and someone will buy it or you can salvage the PCB for the switches. Edit: 2 weeks later the switches feel a lot better. I use it A LOT at work as a daily driver and not for home/gaming, but did use it for gaming one weekend and it works great. Edit2: Months later great board. changed rating from 4 to 5 stars.

The black switches in this keyboard are uncomfortably stiff. This has caused me some discomfort - significantly stiffer than the other keyboards I have with black switches.

I recommend lube the keyboard before use. Pros(In my opinion): PBT keycap, Cherry MX black Switch, Easy to lube the stabilizer Cons: Lack of some "modern" function. ex. Volume control

Box didn't come sealed but everything was fine. One reviewer complained that there are no homing keys (at f and j) but there actually are. The profile of these homing keys has a deeper concave than the rest of the keys. It's just something a little different. But it's something that you can feel when typing. This model does come with the ansi layout. Keycaps feel to be doubleshot abs. You will feel the doubleshot on these keycaps. Also the 5 key comes with the euro symbol. Cherry also does say on their site that this keyboard is programmable. But this is with software. This keyboard isn't hardware programmable. Overall decent board. Not overly great in quality but the layout is very nice. These black switches are also smooth.
